Activating the Agency of Vulnerable Communites Through Love & Resilience

About Us / Our Mission

At JMCG, our foundation is love, mapenzi in Swahili, and it shapes everything we do.
We don’t “serve the vulnerable.” We stand with communities who’ve been systemically excluded, under-resourced, and impacted by trauma. We believe in their brilliance, and we build spaces where that brilliance can thrive.

Our Mission

To activate the agency of individuals and communities through trauma-informed training, equity-rooted technical assistance, and healing-centered coaching, fostering environments where lived experiences are honored and transformative change is realized.

We do this by offering:

  • Trauma Awareness Training
Guiding organizations and communities to recognize, understand, and address the impacts of trauma, fostering environments grounded in safety, trust, and resilience.

  • Trauma-informed career coaching
Supporting people impacted by systemic harm in reclaiming their voice and direction

  • Workforce and rebranding support
Grounded in dignity, narrative justice, and real-world readiness

  • Community violence prevention and healing
Building ecosystems of care through CVI-aligned strategy, trauma awareness training, and wellness circles

  • Community-driven technical assistance
Equipping nonprofits and partners with strategy, facilitation, and impact storytelling that reflect the people they serve

Our Vision

We envision a world where every community possesses the tools and resources to build the futures they deserve, where healing is integral, and workforce development is a pathway to collective liberation.

“We don’t build resumes. We build pathways. We co-create change with love, with clarity, and with a commitment to never leaving the margins behind.”
— Aaron Mapenzi-Johnson, Chief Managing Officer
